Mary Patricia Stenberg, Former Jenkintown Day Nursery Board Member

Mary Patricia Stenberg of Doylestown, formerly of Gwynedd Valley and Abington, died Monday, Nov. 18. She was 91.

Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Susan G. and Henry R. Raynes. Stenberg grew up in Salem, Mass., the oldest of seven children. She attended Salem High School and moved to the Philadelphia area upon her marriage.

She was the widow of Nyyrikki K. Stenberg.

Stenberg volunteered for many organizations including: Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, the  Jenkintown Day Nursery board, and the Fox Chase Cancer Center Women’s Board.

She is survived by three children, Richard M. of Norfolk, Va., Jon C. Stenberg of Buckingham, and Rebecca J. Fisher of Buckingham; a brother, William George Raynes of Salem, Mass.; a sister, Joan Raynes Gilligan of Beverly, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

Stenberg was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert W. and Henry R. Raynes; and two sisters, Carol Raynes Marler and Sally Raynes Dzikiewicz
