James E. Duitch, Foster Parent, Worked for ASD

James E. Duitch, of Roslyn died Sunday, Nov. 3 at home. He was 81.

Born in Northumberland, he was the son of the late Claude and Mabel (Brownwell) Duitch.

He was the widower of Sandra Duitch.

Duitch worked for the Abington School District as a grounds crew foreman for more than 30 years. He was the last of nine children and was a foster parent to 18 boys and three girls over the span of 15 years.

Duitch is survived by his sons, James of Lansdale, Willaim of Sunbury, Robert of Florida and Michael Duitch of Roslyn; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several foster children.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at John R. Freed Funeral Home, 124 North Easton Road, Glenside. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Interment will be private.
