Alfreda H. Staley, Longtime Abington Resident

Alfreda H. Staley, of Abington, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was 92.

Born in Crimmitschau, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Walter Horn and the late Clara J. Horn (née - Wunderlich). She was the widow of the late William P. Staley; mother of Linda Griffith; grandmother of Amy Gaddini, Heidi MacNaughton, Scott Griffith, and Kaitlin Griffith; great grandmother of Evan Gaddini; and sister of the late Erika Gearhard.

Staley emigrated to the United States with her mother and sister in 1923 to meet up with her father, who had come over earlier, and lived in Natrona Heights. She moved to Abington in 1964.

She was a 1937 graduate of Har-Brack High School.

Staley was a secretary at her alma mater, Har-Brack High School, and at Bible Evangelism in Abington.
