What do the unique disciplines of math, movement, and music have in common? Patterns! This summer, Metropolitan Ballet Academy presents an innovative summer enrichment program for children ages 7-10, where children will discover mathematical patterns through the patterns of dance and music in a joyous and artistic venue. Cognitively engaged participants will actively discover body angles, dancing polygons, spatial arrays, twirling circles, jumping fractions, symmetric duets, and so much more through math, movement, and music!
The program is led by Janet Blenheim, a former professional dancer, Japan Fulbright Scholar, and current K-5 Math Department Head at the school district of Upper Dublin. No dance experience is necessary.
