Abington-Rockledge Democratic Committee combines the introduction of candidates and petition signing, with food drive to aid local food cupboard

On February 19, 2013 the Abington-Rockledge Democratic Committee will hold their annual Petition Signing Party to help their candidates get on the ballot for the Primary on May 21, 2013.  This year the event will be held at The
Brownstone at Sunrise of Abington, 1867 Susquehanna Road, Abington, PA 19001 and will start at 7:30 PM.

With over 20,000 registered Democratic voters in Abington and Rockledge, this years event has drawn attention statewide and will include not only Democratic candidates and incumbents for local seats on the Abington
Township's Board of Commissioners; School Board; and Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge; but will also include the Democratic candidate for the Pennsylvania State Superior Court.

Specially invited guests include Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz; Montgomery County Commissioners Josh Shapiro and Leslie Richards; State Representative
Madeleine Dean; Montgomery County Prothonotary Mark Levy; and the final special guest is ... all registered Democratic party members in Abington & Rockledge.

The ARDC is also incorporating a food drive for the local food cupboard that is in dire need of donations.  The food drives that the ARDC sponsors several times a year benefits the Abington Food Cupboard, which in turn helps local friends and neighbors.

The Petition Party has also drawn attention this year due to the unprecedented number of seats up on the Abington Township Board of Commissioners.  Nine of
the fifteen Abington Board seats will be voted on in November and Chair of the ARDC, Michael Barbiero, indicates that the group is extremely energized and impressed by the slate of candidates that
have come forward to serve the community.

ARDC invites all Abington and Rockledge Democratic voters to come to this free event to meet all the candidates and help them get on the ballot by signing their
petitions.

Join the community and meet your Democratic candidates for 2013, bring a small donation for the food cupboard, and grab a bite to eat too!  For more information,
