Montco Election Board to Hold Recount Today for Tied Abington Races

The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. in Norristown.

The Montgomery County Commissioners, sitting as the election board, will conduct a recount of the votes in Abington’s Ward 3 and Ward 4 at an official meeting of the election board on Wednesday at 3 p.m., according to Montgomery County spokesman Frank Custer. Both of the races for township commissioner in the respective wards ended in a tie on election night.

The meeting, which will take place on the eighth floor of One Montgomery Plaza, at Airy and Swede streets in Norristown, is public.

Last week, Montgomery County Spokesman Frank Custer said that incumbent Republican Lawrence Jones had a two-vote lead over Democrat Michael O’Connor in the race for Ward 3 commissioner, which ended in a 510-vote tie on election night, according to unofficial results.
