Abington Commissioner Races Still Undecided

Recount happens Wednesday

There is still no official winner in the two races for Abington Commissioner that ended in a tie on Election Night.

Last week, Montgomery County Spokesman Frank Custer said that incumbent Republican Lawrence Jones had a two-vote lead over Democrat Michael O’Connor in the race for Ward 3 commissioner, which ended in a 510-vote tie on election night, according to unofficial results.

“Nothing is official and nothing has been certified, and again, this is unofficial, but as of now in the Ward 3 race, [Lawrence] Jones is two votes ahead of the Democrat,” Custer said. “Apparently, the results of the race are not in dispute.”
