26 Years...

Instead of whining aloud, Carolyn starts a blog.

I have recently found myself a resident of Collingswood. Again. I know I'm not the only one who has lived in their hometown for the majority of her life, nor do I hold the record for long-standing Collingswood resident. However, when you're on the verge of turning 26 (that 6 makes a difference!) and your friends have lived in what some consider 'exciting' cities or they're married with kids or married with dogs or hold some piece of paper that says they own something; waking up in the same town you had your first step, first broken bone, first kiss, first bike ride, right up to your first salaried job - you start to forget what life outside Collingswood is like.

In other towns, does everyone know each other? Can you see the mayor do the Charleston in a town play? Are the dogs as cute? Do escalators work outside of Collingswood? Are other Wawas really open 24 hours? So many questions!

I've gone to college, graduated, lived in Philly, and currently work in Philly.  I've climbed the ranks in the comedy scene of Philadelphia and I know at some point I will have Collingswood in my rearview. This is why since returning to Collingswood I've decided instead of wishing I was somewhere else, I'm going to appreciate all the quirks this town has to offer right now.

After 26 years, I think I have a pretty good handle on the ins and outs of my precious town, but there are always new discoveries, joys, and questions that arise in my day-to-day life. From the mystery surrounding Knight Park (Is it true if we become a wet town the park will automatically implode on itself?) to my undying love of the Collingswood Sew and Vac, there is always something to rant and ponder about in dear Collingswood.

So please pull up an iPad or wait for the modem to connect and welcome to my blog!
