“We are excited to host the first annual run/walk to remember our dear Sarah and raise awareness and funds for our foundation,” said Sarah’s Joy Foundation President Eric Iraheta. “We want to provide patients with cancer and their families the same joy that Sarah had. Too many families make their lives a hospital bed, and we want them to get out and enjoy a day at a spa or ride a roller coaster with their kids. Having cancer does not mean death, and people shouldn’t mourn someone while they are alive. Sarah certainly lived her life to the fullest, and we want to share that memory with other patients and their families.”

About Sarah’s Joy Foundation

Sarah’s Joy Foundation, a 501 C3 nonprofit foundation , was created to remember Sarah Iraheta, a woman full of life, love, and warmth until she lost her long, painful battle with cancer on March 16, 2012. During her last year of life, Sarah did not let cancer win, as she traveled with her family and participated in activities, such as jet skiing, parasailing, hiking, and golfing. Sarah’s wish was for other patients with cancer and their families to enjoy the same quality of life. Sarah’s Joy Foundation honors Sarah’s wish to provide funding to patients with cancer and their families for trips and activities that increase their quality of life.
