Larry Weiss of Rydal, PA, President of Hippographics Inc., a venture capital firm primarily investing in graphic arts companies, has been elected Treasurer of WHYY's Board of Directors, where he will support the strategies and initiatives that will lead Philadelphia's premiere public media organization into a successful future.
Weiss is active in the community and was responsible for bringing Chess-in-the-Schools to Philadelphia. He and his wife, Harriet, provided the original funding for United Way’s Early to Learn program, created in 2000, which works to raise the quality of early childhood education and encourage the healthy development of children while providing support and resources to parents in order to promote school readiness and a love of learning.
Weiss also serves as a trustee of Federation Housing Inc. and a member of Board of Directors of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation.
