Abington Patch: When did you open?

Abington Art Center: Abington Art Center originated as the Old York Road Art Guild. The Guild was founded in 1939 by a group of visionary women. In 1965, the Guild’s educational programs were incorporated as a separate non-profit under the name “Abington Art Center.”

AP: Who is your ideal client?

AAC: The Art Center is free and welcoming to everyone. We believe art should be engaging, approachable and, above all else, fun.

AP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?

AAC: Our 27-acre Sculpture Park. Each year a new season “opens” in June with new Sculpture Park installations and, no matter when you visit, mother nature contributes to the artwork.

AP: What made you decide to open a business?

AAC: To fulfill a need in the community for art classes and exhibitions.

AP: What's your most popular item?

AAC: With more than 60 options for all ages and skill levels, our studio art classes are our most popular offering.

AP: What makes your community special?

AAC: Our members, students, faculty, and supporters are what make the Art Center the special community it is.

The Abington Art Center, located at 515 Meetinghouse Road in Jenkintown, is open Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn more on their website, Facebook page, and Twitter page.
