Flames engulfed what appeared to be several homes, including a 3-story twin, in the 1900 block of Fairview Avenue, between Maplewood and Stratford avenues, in the Willow Grove section of Abington late Friday night.
The call came in shortly before midnight; crews from the Abington and Willow Grove fire departments battled the blaze.
Several people were looking on from the shopping center parking lot off of Davisville Road; many said they thought the nearby Fast By Ferracci motorcycle tuning company was on fire.
And many other Fairview Avenue residents stood in front of their houses, watching the fire.
A call to the Abington Fire Marshal was not immediately returned.
