Texting and Driving: It Can Wait

Happy New Year to all!

As we kick off 2014, maybe some of you are making resolutions.  Statistics show that about 40% of Americans do, but only about eight percent of us follow through.  This year why not think about making a resolution that you can not only keep, but could keep you and others around you a whole lot safer?  What about resolving in 2014 to never again text and drive?

As part of our “It Can Wait” campaign, AT&T is encouraging folks to start the New Year off right by pledging to never again text and drive.   Do it for yourself, do it to set a good example for our young drivers, and do it to keep everyone around you on the roads safe as well.

Just to give you an idea of the scope of the problem, according to the National Safety Council, texting and driving is involved in more than 200,000 vehicle crashes each year.  And in a recent survey AT&T commissioned, nearly all teens surveyed say texting while driving is dangerous, but 75 percent say it’s “common among their friends,” and 77 percent of teens say, adults do it “all the time.”

So, in 2014 let’s commit to keeping our eyes on the road and our hands on the wheel because when it comes to texting and driving, AT&T reminds you that It Can Wait!  Please go to itcanwait.com and take the pledge today.
