Stardancers Beef and Beer and an Art Reception, This Week

The Week Ahead: Check out a few events happening this week in Abington.

On Wednesday, July 17, Briar Bush Nature Center will hold its Hot S’Mores Nights. Take a hike, learn something new and enjoy s’mores around Briar Bush’s fire pit camp fire. The even happens every Wednesday through Aug. 14. This week’s theme is ‘senses.' Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children.

Longtime Abington Art Center student Lynda Skadden will hold her exhibition “Ceramics Sculpture” at Art in the Storefront in Ambler starting with an opening reception Friday, July 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Skadden has worked in the AAC studio school for more than 30 years. Art in the Storefront is located at 41 East Butler Ave., Ambler.

The North Penn VFW, Post 676, will host the inaugural Stardancers Beef and Beer on Friday, July 19 at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the tickets will help the dancers from the Starts Studio of Dance Competition Team to go to Disney World.
