Shapiro Talks MLK at Bethlehem Baptist in Montco

The Montgomery County Commissioner honored the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at a service on Sunday.

On Sunday, at a multi-cultural and multi-faith service at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Commissioner Chairman Josh Shapiro spoke on how Martin Luther King Jr. affected the world. 

Shapiro said that the march goes on in schools, communities and polling places to ensure equality, fairness and opportunity for all.

“I thank you for doing that work, for continuing the march, but for knowing that as we continue that march, we do so with a strong foundation in the next generation, that truly understands the words of Dr. King, that truly embraces the tolerance that he preached for, and truly enjoys the benefits of the equality that he fought so hard for,” Shapiro said. “Dr. King is and will continue to be an inspiration to me and a guide for my public service. I hope that you too find meaning in his legacy and continue to march.”
