North Penn VFW, Post 676, in Glenside held its Veterans Day ceremony on Monday morning
North Penn VFW Senior Vice Commander Drew Amici kicked off the ceremony. Then, newly re-elected Abington Commissioner and North Penn VFW manager Stephen Kalinoski spoke.
Kalinoski told the crowd that his father had served in World War II and added that his father was initially reluctant to talk about his experience. Kalinoski then said his father opened up during an interview with his daughter about the war.

The commissioner then thanked the veterans who took time out on Saturday to speak to children about their experiences in the armed forces.

Each of the veterans stood up when the name of the war in which they served was called.
