Forty-Six Parishes Under Archdiocese Scrutiny

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is taking a close look at 46 parishes including some in Bucks and Montgomery counties to see how viable they are going forward.

Mergers could result after the Archdiocese of Philadelphia examines 46 parishes in Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Delaware counties to determine their sustainability, according to aPhiladelphia Inquirer report

The parishes in Montgomery County are:

  • Mother of Divine Providence
  • Our Lady of Mount Carmel 
  • Sacred Heart 
  • Sts. Cosmas and Damian 
  • St. Augustine 
  • St. Gertrude 
  • St. Mary; St. Matthew
  • Queen of Peace 
  • St. David 
  • St. John on the Cross 
  • St. Luke the Evangelist 
The parishes in Bucks County are: 
  • Our Lady of Fatima
  • St. Ann 
  • St. Charles Borromeo 
  • St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 
  • St. Ephrem 
  • St. Mark 
  • St. Thomas Aquinas 
  • Immaculate Conception BVM
  • Our Lady of Grace 
  • Queen of Universe 
  • St. Frances Cabrini 
  • St. Joseph the Worker 
  • St. Michael the Archangel
Some announcements about the fate of the parishes could come in 2014. Changes affecting 27 parishes in Philadelphia and Delaware counties were announced in June, according to a Channel 6 ABC report.
