Last month, representatives from Eastern Center for Arts and Technology signed a new articulation agreement for Eastern Students moving on to Penn State Abington’s art program.
This new agreement saves Eastern commercial art students money. Penn State Abington waives the application fee for those Eastern students entering the arts and humanities program as a pre-major with the intention to declare art as a major, should the students meet the necessary requirements, including a successful art portfolio review.
Complementing a strong general studio foundation, Penn State Abington art majors choose from among five media concentrations:
- Drawing and painting,
- Ceramics and
- New media
Eastern’s commercial art program covers everything from conceptual drawing and design to creating a professional portfolio. Students learn the value and application of their unique styles in both design and illustration. Students use industry-standard software on the Mac platform, including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash.
The Art major prepares students for careers or continuing graduate study in fine art, graphic design, industrial design, architecture, fashion and other visual disciplines.
