Briar Bush to Charge 'Modest' Admission Fee

The nature center had been offering free access to its museum since 1962.

Beginning Jan. 2, non-Abington residents and non-members will pay a fee to visit the museum building at Briar Bush Nature Center.

“ has been fortunate to be able to provide unlimited, free access to the museum since it was founded in 1962,” Briar Bush Board President and Rydal resident Stan Lexow said in a Dec. 13 press release. “Instituting an admission fee was a difficult decision but one that will ultimately allow us to assure a strong future for this community treasure.”
