Abington Spends the ‘Pre-Night’ Out [Pics]

Abington's annual Pre-Night Out draws a huge crowd.

The Abington Township Joint Town Watch Council, the Abington Police Department and the Abington Radio Emergency Associated Communication Teams held the township’s 14th annual “Pre-Night Out” Monday.

The event always coincides with the National Night Out Against Crime, which is Tuesday, Aug. 6. For more information about that, click here.

Event organizer David Rondinelli said in the past that the event usually gets “mobbed” and has a “boardwalk” atmosphere. The latest installment was no different.

Hundreds of residents took to the Target parking lot on Old York Road to mingle with local businesses, nonprofits, municipal agencies … and other residents.

The event is meant to call attention to the importance of community members working with police to prevent and stop crime, according to Rondinelli.
