Abington Board of Commissioners, Tonight

Check out what's on the agenda for tonight's meeting.

The Abington Board of Commissioners will meet at the township building at 8 p.m.

Of note:

  • The board will consider a motion to approve a 5-year lease of the second floor of Alverthorpe Manor to the Old York Road Historical Society. The annual rental payment would be $6,100 and an additional $600 for utilities.

  • The board will hold a public hearing on the placement of portable storage units and Dumpsters. A proposed ordinance would require permits for the placement of such units on properties in the township. A permit fee would cost $25.
  • And … the board will likely discuss replacements, and may appoint a replacement for former Abington Commissioner and now-State Rep. Madeleine Dean, D-153.

I hope that whatever Republican is forced into place of Dean by the GOP Commissioners who hold the majority doesn't get too comfortable because the constituents are just going to vote him/her out the first chance they get.
