Matthias Hausman, Troop 304, Glenside, PA, Boy Scouts of America, proudly accepted the Eagle Challenge from his Scoutmaster Harry Gaab, at his recent Court of Honor. Fellow Scouts and leaders of Troop 304, as well as representatives of the Washington District Committee, along with Matthias’s many friends and family members witnessed his elevation to the rank of Eagle. The headline “Pfadfinder wird Adler” attests to Matthias’s recognition as a Boy Scout German Language Interpreter. Commendations were given to Matthias by Abington Township Commissioners John Spiegelman and Ben Sanchez. He also received a Proclamation from the Pennsylvania State House of Representative Madeleine Dean.
Matthias has previously received the Arrow of Light Award and the God & Family Award. He has served as Den Chief for Bears with Pack 210 and Quartermaster, Troop Guide and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 304. A Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow, he has served as Treasurer of the Washington Chapter and is currently Vice Chapter Chief. A lover of the outdoors Matthias has enjoyed Summer Camp in 4 states. He was also a participant at the National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia in 2013. He completed National Youth Leadership Training “Silver Stag” in June of 2012.
Matthias and the fellow Scouts who assisted him in his service project, at the Northwestern Stables in Fairmount Park, were each awarded the Messengers of Peace Award for their work.
