Local Florists’ Antics with Jenkintown Next Door Neighbor Hits TV on November 12 Episode of The Goldbergs on ABC

The Kremp Family – owners of Kremp Florist in Willow Grove  and Jenkintown residents – never realized that when wacky next door neighbor Adam Goldberg started videotaping his family’s kooky antics and theirs in the early 1980’s, that they would become the subject of a hit TV show in 2013.

The Goldberg’s – written by Jenkintown native Adam Goldberg – began airing on ABC this fall.  The November 12 episode – titled “The Kremps” – will feature the family of Willow Grove’s Kremp Florist and the Goldberg’s efforts to get them to attend a BBQ when the Kremps moved onto their Jenkintown block.  The show will air at 9 am EST.

According to Chad Kremp, it is exciting to see his childhood friend make it on prime time network TV. Chad regularly helped Adam with his diligent videotaping, often without their families knowing they were being recorded.  “Adam and I taped everything. It has been wonderful to see all of his family stories transformed into TV segments,” said Kremp.

The show is filled with local references – shopping trips to the Willow Grove Mall, police officers sporting badges which read “Jenkintown,” and constant quips about Philadelphia’s sports teams.

According to Kremp, the November 12 episode will feature a set recreated to look like Kremp Florist, now located on Davisville Road in Willow Grove.  Though members of the Kremp family will be played by professional actors, Chad Kremp is slated to make a cameo appearance as a deli worker.

“We cannot wait to tune in and see our family and the silliness that always came about when the Kremps and Goldbergs got together,” said Kremp.
