Jim Rankin receives Wood Badge

Jim Rankin, Scoutmaster of Troop 427, sponsored by Queen of Peace, R.C. Church, Glenside, received his Wood Badge wednesday evening at the Washington District Rountable. Adult leaders from around the Washington District, Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA, who had previously earned their Wood Badge came together to participate in the ceremony.
Wood Badge is Scouting's premier training course. It is an intense training course requiring the participants to work together, to organize and to develope an enthusiasm and team spirit to accomplish the tasks and challenges placed before them. Lord Baden-Powell, founder of Scouting, directed the first course in 1919. Wood Badge is the embodiment of the Scouting spirit and is a great force for world brotherhood.
Trained adult leadership is a requirement of the scouting program. You can learn more at: www. BeAScout.org
