EAGLE SCOUT IMPROVES HORSE SHOWERS

Anthony Hirsch started his scouting career at he age of six as a Tiger Cub in Pack 210 sponsored by the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Jenkintown where he earned his Arrow of Light, the highest Award in Cub Scouting. He continued on to Boy Scouts in pursuit of the Eagle Badge at Troop 304 sponsored by St. Luke the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Glenside where he held many leadership  positions including Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Anthony also excells in sports, participating on Jenkintown High School's cross country and track teams. A great outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys fishing with his father and camping with his friends, allways ensuring that his mothers chocolate chip cookies are not far from reach. He has the unique knack of finding virtually any living creature in the wild. In keeping with his love of animals, Anthony organized and managed the repair and improvement of the horse shower stalls at Northwestern Staples in Philadelphia for his Eagle project. The stables provide a variety of programs including lessons and field trips to give urban children the opportunity to engage with the horses. Anthony is continuing his love for the earth in his college career as he pursues his B.S. in Environmental Engineering at Purdue University.
