Abington Library is looking for some Doggone Good Readers!

Kids who have completed grades one through five can come to the library on Saturdays, July 14 through Aug. 4, and practice reading aloud to a therapy dog. Bring your own book, or choose from the library's selections.

Sessions will be held from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., or 11 to 11:30 a.m., each day.

Registration is required. Children do not need to attend all sessions, but they must be able to read and attend programs independently.

The Abington Free Library is the largest library and the most visited library in the  Montgomery County Library and Information Network Consortium (MCLINC), which comprises more than 30 libraries. It employs 65 people and has more than 100 volunteers. The library has an extensive children's book collection on the lower level, as well as more than a dozen computers and a room for lectures and presentations.
