How has Received Pronunciation in Britain changed? How has the BBC changed its “linguistic” tune? Includes excerpt from “Billy Elliot” DVD
April 7 - The Future of English
How and why has English spread over the last 200 years? Will it ever die? What’s the difference between African American vernacular and Standard English? Includes excerpt from a lecture by Leonard Bernstein, “The Unanswered Question” DVD.

More About Abington Free Library
The Abington Free Library is the largest library and the most visited library in the Montgomery County Library and Information Network Consortium (MCLINC), which comprises more than 30 libraries. It employs 65 people and has more than 100 volunteers. The library has an extensive children's book collection on the lower level, as well as more than a dozen computers and a room for lectures and presentations.
