Art Exhibit by the American Literalist and Barn Lady
Montgomery County Community College's Pottstown Campus will host an exhibit featuring the vivid barn and landscape paintings of artist Sherry McVickar, through June 29.
Summer gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
A special Meet the Artist reception will be held June 14 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.
Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
McVickar's work has been described as "oil paintings with a consistent palette-knife style with vigorous color" that express an American literal style. Her barn portraits, as she refers to them, have earned her the name of "Barn Lady of Chester County."
