October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and whether you love to shop, attend events, walk or run, there are tons of different ways to support the cause. Check out the list below of opportunities to go pink in Montgomery County and beyond:

• Pink Event - Philadelphia Premium Outlets, Limerick, Oct. 1-31. For each donation of $10 or more, receive a 25 percent off coupon good for one item at select stores. Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Stop at the Visitor's Center or click here for details.
  
• Free Breast Health Screening - Abington Health Center, Schilling Campus, Willow Grove, Oct. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. Call 215-481-2586 to schedule an appointment. For women 40 or older who has not had a mammogram or clinical breast exam in the past year due to lack of health insurance.
• Ideas for Healthier Living: Find Support Through Your Breast Cancer Journey - Oct. 18, noon to 1:30 p.m., Lansdale Hospital, Abington Health. This community outreach event is sponsored by the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate Community Grants Program. This support group offers men and women the opportunity to meet other living with breast cancer, with special focus on coping with changes and uncertainty that accompany the diagnosis.
• Octoberfest 5k Run - Parx Casino and Racing sponsors the inaugural race, to benefit the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, Oct. 20, at the famed Bensalem racetrack. Register online.
• Mammograms, Massages and More - Oct. 25, 4 to 7:30 p.m. Einstein Healthcare Network celebrates Natinal Breast Cancer Awareness Month by inviting women to get mammograms at Einstein Medical Center, Elkins Park. Free screening avialable for eligible uninsured and underinsured women. Open to all women, please bring previous mammogram films and physicians prescription. Call 1-800-EINSTEIN to register.
• Natalie's Boo-Bie Bash, Ambler Fire House - Support a local mom, recently diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, Oct. 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include food, beer, soda, music, raffles and silent auction.

In addition to these events throughout the county, Pennsylvania residents will be participating in PA Breast Cancer Coalition in Pennsylvania walks and running events almost every Saturday in October.

There are even more ways to spread breast cancer awareness this month by supporting national organizations that are fighting for a cure.

Research centers like Susan G. Komen for the Cure are selling pink ribbon merchandise and it’s a twofer — retail therapy and donating to a cause that affects millions.

You can also support breast cancer research by affixing a special stamp to your mail. The U.S. Postal Service has been selling a stamp commemorating breast cancer awareness for the past 15 years. The agency has raised $75 million so far for research programs at the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense.

The American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is organized nationwide and so far more than 8 million people have walked for this cause and raised about $460 million.

And you can join people from four continents in a Race for the Cure event organized by Susan G. Komen For The Cure, or an Avon Walk For Breast Cancer event organized by the Avon Foundation for Women.
