Allyon. Would you like to debate this issue?

Obamacare does ZERO to control the cost of healthcare, and in fact is likely to increase it exponentially. With the crippling taxes kicking in, doctors leaving their practices, and the calculated attempt to lock out smaller insurers, Allyson has shown a profound lack of leadership and vision in voting for this disaster.

Rep. Allyson Schwartz, how come your health coverage is not under the obama care ?
why is it that your heath care as a memeber of congress is superior to what i have as a citizen? i like to know do you need a 3rd party review for any medical procedure
or test? do need a referal to see a specialist ? the goverment should stay out of the heath care business. Rep. Allyson Schwartz will you be under obama care just the the people who voted you into office ?

The Governor's decision demonstrates the high priority he has given to the serious challenges of a barely sustainable state budget and how it will impact the citizens of Pa. Schwartz's article consists of fear-mongering...because HELLO!; accessible health coverage is already available for ALL citizens. Hospitals can't refuse to give care - and there are many dentists - doctors who work pro-bono for those who are truly financially challenged. Schwartz exempted herself from Obamacare - that action speaks volumes. Bottom line what this article is saying: She's really ticked that the federal government has less control and power over citizens. I'm glad Corbett finally said NO to the exchanges - just wish it wouldn't have taken this long.
I wonder if Ms. Schwartz is bummed because this means less federal money in the kitty for her to get her 500.00 haircuts? Heh heh.

The point of Allyson Schwartz comment is two-fold. Governor Corbett has stopped the CHIP program in Pennsylvania which she began while she was state senator and then had it expanded federally. Many children avoid starvation because of this coverage; secondly, the Affordable Health Care Act is to set up exchanges in which people who cannot get medical coverage because of a variety of reasons, including having a pre-existing condition which the insurance companies would not cover..and now Governor Corbett will not set up an exchange in Pennsylvania and those people will have to go outside the state for coverage. I did not read the entire statement by Corbett so I do not know what he is doing about Medicaid which many states headed by Republican governors refuse to have in their states in spite of it being paid for (90%, I think beginning in January) by the federal government. I am glad that those of you have and can afford medical insurance. But this program is for those who can't. And it is the law of the land.

Pa and this governor has decided to leave it in the Feds hands. Yet under this program has already taken over 30 million. Where has this money gone?

If Ms Schwartz had read the PPACA she would know that it grants each state the option of establishing a health insurance exchange. Governor Corbett has done nothing more than avail our great state of the option Ms Schwartz voted to support. Why the vitriol Allyson?
We are all still waiting for Ms Schwartz to hold a series of town hall meetings here in PA13 where she will stand and answer questions about PPACA from the residents of our district. I would like to ask her about the ballooning costs estimates for this bill (up to $2 Trillion), why thousands of waivers were issued to big labor unions and big corporations, for an explanation for all the new taxes and how the IPAB will ration care to seniors.
This release proves again that Allyson Schwartz hasn't read PPACA, doesn't understand it and is shamefully misleading. I understand that she is contemplating a run for governor and this release is part of her attempt to make Gov Corbett look bad, but I would advise that she read and understand the bills she votes for before she starts casting stones.

If anyone who voted for Schwartz or Obama " ever " read Obamacare ( all 1900 pages, I have ) would see for themself that their costs are going to RISE. More money out of their pockets, their income wages dropping. A review board to tell them who and what meds they can and can't get. Not to talk about the operations the review board may or may not let them have. WHEN will the U.S.Congress drop their U.S. TAXPAYER paid medical plan and be on the same plan. When Hell FREEZES OVER !! If it is so good for the rest of America then it is good for the U.S.Congress. We all know that the U.S. Congress only works a few weeks out of the year anyway and make between 178,000 to 225,000 a year plus medical. ( Congress Website ) I support Governor Corbett taking a stand against forced insurance. tell the feds, you want it, you set it up and run it. They will mess it up like they do everything else.

Real reform ? The only reform that will work for all and will control costs is the single payer system.Some of you will say that that is socialism or european centric.That may be,but the system works...not perfectly,but it works for everyone. The gov't already has a single payer structure with the Veterans Administration and the current Medicare system is a single payer program. Does this type of system restrain rampant capitalism ? Of Course..Does it hold down costs ? Eventually it does. Does it mean long waits to see a doctor or get some types of surgery ? Absolutely.. Remember, in all countries that have a single payer system, you can still pay if you want to go private. Will taxes go up ? You bet they will, but that's part of living in a so called civilized society.

Victor et al...we as a nation are not going backward! The Supreme Court has ruled, the electorate has chosen and we will move forward. Those of us that can think in a forward direction do not wish to go back to the 19th century. The nation no longer looks like you nor does it choose to live your idea of the world. We are progressive (read progress) we have grown and we have developed. We choose to live in a world where the health care of our children is guaranteed not controlled with pre-existing conditions and cap limits. I get it...taking care of a fellow human being is something that is difficult for you to comprehend. Fortunatly a majority of the electorate feels differently. The nation elected the best candidate because the other side could only offer a 'clown-car' collection of fools with draconian ideas of governing. The nation won.

Rep. Allyson Schwartz, as i read all the obama care comments and that we now as employers forced into socialized heath care , i was just recently invloved in a car crash where the other driver was totally at fault , he has NO AUTO INSURANCE.
WHY IS IT NOT a forced issue to make sure all drivers or car have insurance for the whole country just like heath care .This driver could have easily killed my family or crippled me or another family member. if you support obama care , why dont you support mandated auto insurance .?

Just a question...how does it become socialism to demand that people act in a responsible way and purchase their own health insurance rather than to expect the rest of us to pay for their care when they show up at a hospital ER without insurance???
Seems that those of you that are always whispering about the 'takers' would be knocking each other out of the way to get on the bandwagon with this plan of self-responsibility.
As for the comment about employers being forced to provide 'socialized health care' to your employees...do what you do whenever any of your other operating expenses rise. We know that you wont take a paycut, so...
Maybe if you treated your employees with the dignity of basic health care, you would find that they become happy and loyal to you!

marc, yes the law requires auto insurance, but i was able to find out that about 7 out 10 cars in the philly metro area dont have any insurance . yet when you go to get your car state inspected or registration renewal you must have proof of insurance.
i just found out that the guy who hit me , was in several accidents with with no insurance and no drivers license ..... so this leads me to my questions for our Rep. Allyson Schwartz will their me a mandate for car insurance , just like heath care insurance?
