Roads To Be Closed for Officer Fox Funeral
Due to the viewing and funeral for Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox, there will be several road closures Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday Sept. 18, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Wednesday Sept. 19, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., the following roadways will be closed in Whitpain and Plymouth townships:
- Walton Road between Germantown Pike and Stenton Avenue
- Township Line Road between Penllyn Blue Bell Pike to Narcissa Road
- Norristown Road between Township Line Road and Narcissa Road
SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said bus routes 95 and 98 will be operating, but will be taking local detours.
Click on the above links for maps and schedules of each route.
"There will probably be minor delays so riders should allow for some extra time on both days, Tuesday and Wednesday," Busch said.
Fox was murdered Thursday Sept. 13. See the story here.
Anyone wishing to attend the viewing or funeral should park at the Greater Plymouth Community Center, 2910 Jolly Road, where a shuttle will be provided to the church.

Does anyone know how the Route 95 and Route 98 buses will be affected? Trying to get an answer from SEPTA is like getting blood from a stone. My office complex is in the middle of every single closed road.

Marc, I spoke with SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams a moment ago; she is looking into whether any bus routes will be affected.

How are people supposed to get to and from work in all the office parks on Township Line and Walton roads? Surely Officer Fox would not approve of workers having to take unpaid days off because they couldn't get to the office.

Mischa: Good luck!
Luray: My complex's property management group is looking into this as well and the Abington Police/Whitpain Police are supposed to be giving them more information on the specific route for employees to take (at least a common entry point) to get out of work tomorrow and into work on Wednesday.

Jennifer:
1) Chill out. Take off the caps lock. Breathe.
2) You actually made a partial good point. This is not the place nor time for me to vent about SEPTA (I've deleted that particular comment in hindsight).
3) Please do not mistake my frustration with SEPTA for lack of caring about Officer Fox or his family. That is far from the truth.
4) The information I posted is information for other riders as well. This article is specifically about ROAD CLOSURES resulting from the events at the church.
5) While it may not seem like a big deal to you, getting to and from work is not something I can "just go with it one day out of [my] life."

Yes you can....and you will. Hearts are broken...and yours should be as well. If you work in the area that means you may need this police department someday, I'm sure they will be there for you...now, be there for them.

Honestly, I can not believe the insensitivity of the people posting here. I have been to every emotional service so far. My brother is on the police force and I can tell you that not only are the Fox family members grieving, but every member of the Plymouth police department is too. I can not understand how people could be concerned about a couple detours for a day, when the people who loved and respected this person who fought for our country during two tours in Iraq and gave his life to protect us again back home are feeling empty an distraught during this last week. This man didn't even live long enough to say goodbye to his loved ones and you people are concerned that you will be late to work?! How about this....how about when you see the procession passing you by, you pull your car over or come out of your comfy offices and PAY YOUR RESPECTS.

Thank you. I mean what will the detours add 5 - 10 minutes to the commute. The entire STATE is in mourning. This local tragedy has affected me in a way that I thought it never would. I just came on here to get the route from the church to the cemetary and wanted to see all the lovely things people have ben saying and to see this guy rant over and over and over just really upset me.
