Lots of DUIs in Abington ...
DUI and careless driving … Tamira Rollins, 25, of North Avondale Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 18 at 1:18 a.m. following a traffic stop after she veered into the wrong lane of travel on Rodman Avenue near Old York Road and drove over a concrete center median, police said. According to police, Rollins, who smelled of alcohol, was not sure why she was pulled over. She said she turned off Old York Road to Washington Lane, but she was several miles from that intersection; she also said that she was coming from Philadelphia. Rollins failed two field sobriety tests and refused a blood test, police said.
Possession of a small amount of marijuana … Andrew Smith, 25, of Heritage Place, Southampton, was arrested Aug. 15 at 2:11 a.m. after he made an illegal left, crossing a median on Old York Road as he left the Steak and Hoagie Factory parking lot, police said. According to police, Smith had an active warrant out of Hatboro for marijuana possession. There were four bags of confirmed marijuana in his vehicle’s console, police said.
DUI and reckless endangerment … Michelle D. Coe, 29, of West Cheltenham Avenue, Elkins Park, was arrested July 28 at 1:50 a.m. near the corner of Washington Lane and Township Line Road after she was seen speeding and swerving and turning into oncoming traffic on Township Line Road, police said. According to police, Coe failed three field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.229 percent.
DUI, reckless driving and texting while driving … Nicholas Sanchez, 24, of Musgrave Street, Philadelphia, was arrested July 22 at 5:27 a.m. as he swerved up on a median near the corner of Old York and Moreland roads, nearly losing control of his vehicle, police said. According to police, Sanchez said he was texting while driving. He smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Sanchez said he had a beer at the VFW and then said he had a beer and two shots. Sanchez had a blood alcohol content of 0.131 percent, police said.
DUI … John Douglas Kathrins Jr., 28 of Barbara Road, Hatboro, was arrested July 21 at 1:46 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Country Club Road after he was seen swerving and driving 25 mph in a 35 mph-zone, police said. According to police, when Kathrins was pulled over, he said he did not know why he was driving so badly. Kathrins smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. When he was asked to do a field sobriety test, Kathrins said he “knew where this was going.” He had a blood alcohol content of 0.257 percent.
DUI … Weslaw Krzesinski, 48, of Angus Place, Philadelphia, was arrested July 15 at 1:18 a.m. near the corner of Huntingdon Pike and Meadowbrook Drive following a traffic stop for making an abrupt lane change and not signaling, police said. According to police, Krzesinski, who smelled of alcohol, said he and his wife were heading home after a party. Krzesinski said he hadn’t been drinking but said that his wife had been. He then said he had one drink. He failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.158 percent, police said.
Possession of a controlled substance … Karen C. Hurt, 25, of Henning Way, Lansdale, was arrested July 5 at 4 a.m. in the 100 block of Old York Road, police said. According to police, Hurt was a passenger in a maroon Scion that was parked in the Colonade apartment complex. The driver, an unidentified man, said Hurt has a drug problem and said there were drugs in the car. Police found a glass pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics, and a small plastic bag containing a wax bag labeled “Bugatti.” The bag contained confirmed heroin.
