Police Have 'Solid Lead' in Burglary Case
A link among burglaries in Abington, Lower Moreland and Philadelphia
Abington Police Deputy Chief John Livingood said last night that police have a “solid lead” in finding a burglar who struck at least three homes in Abington.
“We’re looking into it as we speak,” he said.
According to Livingood, the burglaries occurred earlier this week in the eastern part of the township; homes were hit on Jenkintown, Meetinghouse and Cedar roads.
In all of the cases, the burglar, or burglars, entered through an unlocked door or window, ransacked the house and made off with some jewelry.
All of the burglaries happened in the daytime; no burglar has made contact with any homeowners, Livingood said.
Similar burglaries happened recently in Philadelphia and Lower Moreland.
One victim said his or her house was struck while he or she left briefly to vote; the house was left unattended for under an hour.
Anyone with information is asked to call Abington Police.
