Philly Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Abington

An unsecured exhaust led to the 38-year-old man's arrest.

Abington Police arrested a Philadelphia man who allegedly had suspected marijuana and small bags commonly used to package marijuana in his vehicle.

Bruce Bennett, 38, of Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, was arrested March 2 at about 1 p.m. near the corner of Township Line Road and Zane Avenue  following a traffic stop for having tinted glass on his blue Mercury Grand Marquis and for having an unsecured exhaust pipe, police said.

According to police, Bennett said there was a small amount of marijuana in the back seat of the vehicle. Police said they found a paper bag containing a sandwich bag, which contained six black-tinted Ziploc bags containing suspected marijuana. Also in the paper bag was another plastic bag with an apple stamped on it, which contained smaller new and unused green-tinted bags.
