PECO: Ninety Percent of its Customers to Have Power Tonight

The energy company said it has already restored service to 85 percent of its 850,000 customers.

PECO said it expects service to be restored to about 90 percent of its customers by tonight, according to a Nov. 2 press release.

The company said “most” of the remaining customers will have power restored by Sunday, and customers with “the most isolated damage” should have power restored by early next week.

As of noon today, PECO said about 125,000 customers remain without service — 38,000 of those customers are Montgomery County residents.

More than 4,600 PECO employees, contractors and workers from as far away as Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland and PECO’s Chicago-based sister utility ComEd have worked to restore service.

While clean up continues, PECO said customers should stay away from downed power lines and damaged equipment.  Always assume PECO’s equipment is energized, even if there is an outage in your neighborhood.  Customers should report dangerous conditions to PECO immediately at 1-800-841-4141.
