On Friday, Meadowbrook School Headmaster David Stephens welcomed Joe McKeown, President of the McKeown Foundation to the school.
The McKeown Foundation was formed in 2007 in an effort to expand awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and to carry on a mission of caring, support and research in hopes of one day eliminating the disease
As part of the third grade curriculum, Meadowbrook School students learn about aging and the classroom work is supplemented with a warm relationship with the Redeemer Village community. Students and residents visit with each other throughout the year to create a bond that transcends age. The students benefit from learning from their elders and the residents of Redeemer Village enjoy the visits. The McKeown Foundation supports the Meadowbrook School’s important program; the organization presented the school a check for $3,000 to continue to grow it.
