Last week the Abington Senior High School Athletic Department hosted a National Letter of Intent Early Signing Period event where Abington senior Liz Gassman signed an early national letter of intent with Marist College to continue her academic and athletic career.

Gassman accepted a volleyball scholarship from the Red Foxes.

The Abington senior captain was a First Team American Conference – Suburban One League honoree as she led the Lady Ghosts to the District One playoffs from her middle blocker position.  Recruited by Marist head coach Tom Hanna, Gassman said she looks forward to joining the Division I school in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.  Marist College is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.  Gassman is the daughter of Marianne and Joseph.

Love to hear a Lady Ghost is taking the winning spirit of Abington right to the net in New York! A Thanksgiving blessing for Liz that she has earned through hard work and determination.
