Highland's Sixth Grade Unveils its Gift

Decorative, inspirational tiles

Highland Elementary School’s Class of 2012 — the first class to attend all seven years at the newly rebuilt building — presented the school with a gift on Friday.

Each student designed and built a class tile depicting his or her future interests and careers. The students sketched their designs on paper and molded the clay with the help of pottery artist and Highland parent Dyan Swarz.

The composition challenged them to think forward; the collection of unique artwork is called, “Do what you love, love what you do.”

The sixth-grade class presented its gift to Highland Principal Marianne Kaemmer and Abington Superintendent Amy Sichel on Friday, the last day of school.
