DA: My ideal customer is one who is as excited as I am about not only supporting small locally owned businesses but appreciating artwork and craft that is hand made in the United States and Canada. My customer appreciates knowing that their purchases let American artists know how much we need them in our lives.

AP: What makes your business unique from others in your field?

DA: What makes my business unique is that we are a gift gallery that celebrates artists from North America, many of them from right here in our neighborhood! We carry a variety of jewelry, ceramic and wood art, socks, scarves, wind chimes, purses wall art in glass, steel and copper. We also carry a full line of personal care items like lotions, lavender eye pillows, nail files and soaps. And again, the best part is that is it ALL made in North America.

AP: What made you decide to open a business?

DA: I decided to open this business because I had spent the previous ten years working in Hospice Care and loved it but it was time to do something that served my community in a very different way. I used to attend every craft show I could because I loved shopping, the crafts and meeting the artists so I thought this would be a perfect way to combine those loves. And who wouldn't want to be surrounded by such beauty all day?

AP: What’s your most popular item?

DA: My top 3 most popular items are Jewelry, Pottery and Greeting Cards. I have a whole room devoted to greeting cards and for people who love cards want something unusual, they have found a perfect place here, returning week after week to purchase or just to read the new cards that have arrived.

AP: What makes your community special?

DA: I chose Glenside because this community has such pride and history. People have lived here for generations and appreciate (out loud) being able to answer all their shopping needs right in their neighborhood, frequently on foot! There is a warm and welcoming small town feel to the community and it didn't hurt that it is halfway between where I grew up and where I live now, so that makes it exactly where I want to be.

AP: Where can customers find your specials?

DA: I have an active email list, sending two emails a month, to keep my customers informed about events and specials. We have live music every First Friday of the month so that's always included in one of the emails. I also post this information on my Facebook page, along with Facebook Only specials that don't make it to the emails. There is an abundance of information on my website.
