Crews from Edge Hill and Roslyn Fire companies responded to the 700 block of Hamel Avenue in Ardsley at about 4:20 p.m. today.
Abington Assistant Fire Marshal John Rohrer was on the scene. He said the homeowner called and said there was a strange odor, possibly natural gas, coming from his house.
Rohrer said fire crews checked the gas meters and there were no abnormal readings. No one was injured and crews left after about 10 minutes.
