Abington Graduate Makes Waves
The Abington and Eastern grad is now polishing her craft in Glenside.
An Abington High School and Eastern Center for Arts and Technology graduate landed a job doing what she loves in Glenside.
BillieJo Goudy, a 2012 graduate, is currently working at New Waves Salon. Goudy began working at the salon as a first-year student in Eastern’s cosmetology program.
Goudy received her Pennsylvania cosmetology license in September and is now working on building her clientele — she’s also attending Montgomery County Community College.
Goudy’s cousin took Eastern’s cosmetology program when BillieJo was in seventh grade and used her as a model for one of her projects. She said it was at that point that her love of the cosmetology field blossomed. Her main interest is in hair care and coloring and styling.
Goudy said she enjoys the salon environment and plans to stay with New Waves throughout her career.
Eastern’s cosmetology program is a 2-year half-day program.
