Chase with Putty Knife in Mall Sends Man to Jail

The 21-year old Philadelphia resident pleaded guilty to retaliation against a witness, simple assault and terroristic threats after chasing another man with a putty knife.

On Aug. 31, 2011, Thorn Alon Davis-Cerdan, 21, of Philadelphia was reported to have chased another man through the Willow Grove Park Mall, weilding a metal putty knife, according to a Times Herald report.

The report states that Davis-Cerdan was recently sentenced in Montgomery County court to 11-and-half to 23 months in county jail, followed by three years probation. Davis-Cerdan pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault (witnesses say he knocked over a small child in his pursuit), terroristic threats and retaliation against a witness.

According to the Davis-Cerdan's defense lawyer Francis Genovese, Davis-Cerdan picked up a putty knife off a mall janitor's work cart and gave chase to a man who was previously a witness against Davis-Cerdan during a Philadelphia court proceeding.
