UPDATE: Bank Robbery in Abington Reportedly Ends with Crash

The PNC bank in the 100 block of Old York Road was robbed; suspect reportedly crashed.

A bank robbery in the 100 block of Old York Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington reportedly ended with a multi-vehicle crash in Philadelphia. 

The bank was robbed at about 11:40 a.m.

According to reports, there was a multi-vehicle crash near the corner of 17th and Oxford Avenue. The suspect, who reportedly crashed into a police vehicle, is in custody.

According to the police scanner, a police officer was transported to Hahnemann Hospital. 

Units from Abington Police were reportedly following the suspect at about 15 mph with no lights and no siren prior to the crash.

Abington Police did not immediately return calls.

According to the Breaking News Network, the suspect was driving a dark Range Rover. According to the police scanner, the Abington Police Department requested that tow trucks pick up the suspect's or suspects' vehicle.
