At its annual meeting, the YMCA of Philadelphia and Vicinity named Lou Riggs as the Abington YMCA Volunteer of the Year. John Flynn, Ceo and President of the YMCA of Philadelphia and Vicinity said Riggs was named “for his steadfast service and commitment to the Y.”

For more than 40 years, Riggs and his wife Penny have volunteered their time to the Abington YMCA community. Riggs is a past president of the YMCA board and led several committees such as the Golf and the Annual Strong Kids Campaign. Riggs was also instrumental in garnering donations and publicity for the Abington YMCA.
