Abington Readies for [Downgraded] Snow
The Abington Public Works Department is ready for the white stuff.
Abington Superintendent of Highways Angelo Pontelandolfo said today that staffers at the Abington Public Works Department have been preparing for the storm all day … and while he was speaking, he got an update on the weather.
“It’s already been downgraded,” he said. “We have a 30 percent chance of getting one inch of snow.”
Regardless, the township is ready.
“There are 17 trucks loaded with salt and they’re ready to head out the door,” Pontelandolfo said.
And he added that the all of the available trucks have been fitted with plows.
As for the salt left? Pontelandolfo said the township has about 2,000 tons remaining.

i guess with the storm being down graded , the township workers wont be getting
hefty overtime pay and the township will spare us another tax increase . i wonder what it cost the township in overtime pay when we get a major snow storm ?
