DUI … David Andrew Dukert, of the 800 block of Tyson Avenue, Roslyn, was arrested Jan. 23 at 2:08 a.m. after he almost crashed into a vehicle on Easton Road near the corner of Oakdale Avenue, police said. According to police, Dukert smelled of alcohol, and he lost balance as he stepped out of his vehicle, almost falling. Dukert failed two field sobriety tests and failed to provide a blood sample. According to the report, Dukert has one prior conviction for DUI.

Retail theft … Yerkika Ruiz, 21, of the 2200 block of 99^th Street, Elmus, N.Y., and Michael Eduardo Salda-Reala, age and address unknown, were arrested Feb. 2 at 7:58 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Old Welsh and Fitzwatertown roads after they stole four pairs of sunglasses from Solstice totaling over $1,000, police said. According to police, Salda-Reala provided a false identification card, and Ruiz said the stolen sunglasses were in her purse. Also in Ruiz’s purse were several stolen pairs of socks and underwear from Aeropostale, police said.

Retail theft … Carlos Hernandez, 32, of the 8300 block of 31^st Avenue, New York City, was arrested Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Willow Grove Park Mall, police said. According to police, a mall loss prevention officer became suspicious of Hernandez after he was seen in the mall’s food court with a “Disney Store” bag, as the mall no longer has a Disney Store. According to the report, Hernandez’s van had a blue nylon bag containing 112 pieces of stolen merchandise totaling $4,575. Hernandez said he stole the merchandise with the help of a female accomplice, according to police. Also found in Hernandez’s van was a GPS unit, which had multiple shopping malls programmed into it.

Retail theft … Charles Battle, 74, of the 3900 block of Elser Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. in Sears in Willow Grove Park Mall after he put two pairs of brown boots into a bag, left the store and re-entered, police said. According to police, when Battle came back into the store, he attempted to steal a two-piece suit and a pair of sunglasses.
