Abington Police Reports, Feb. 13 —DUIs and an S2K Theft

The following police reports were taken from the Abington Police records room.

 

Burglary and theft … Andres Acosta, 20, of the 3100 block of Stirling Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Dec. 19 after he admitted to a Sept. 4 burglary in the 900 block of Dale Road in which a black Honda S2000 was stolen from a garage, police said. A GPS unit valued at $200 was also taken from a yellow Toyota SUV, which was parked near the S2000.

According to police, the homeowner had been doing yard work at the time of the theft.

Abington detectives pulled a fingerprint using black fingerprint powder from the Toyota, and county detectives linked the print to Acosta, police said. Acosta admitted to committing the burglary with someone named Tony Dang, police said.

DUI and driving with an open container … Shala Ellerbee, 35, of the 100 block of West Upsal Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Dec. 31 at 3:04 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Easton Road and Decatur Avenue, police said. According to police, Ellerbee smelled of alcohol, and when she was asked if she had anything to drink, she said she was coming from work and “they don’t allow us to drink.”

According to police, Ellerbee said she had an alcoholic beverage in the center cup holder.

Ellerbee failed a field sobriety test, had a blood alcohol content of 0.067 percent and her blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana and cocaine degradation product.

 

DUI and careless driving … Nicole Renee Culbreath, 21, of the 1200 block of Girard Avenue, Roslyn, was arrested Dec. 31 at 5:56 a.m. following a three-vehicle crash in the 2500 block of Fernwood Avenue, police said. According to police, Culbreath said she may have “fell asleep” while driving her black Nissan Maxima.

Culbreath’s Nissan sustained heavy front-end damage and was resting against a white Chevrolet Silverado … which was pushed into a tan Dodge Durango, police said. Both front airbags deployed on the Maxima.

Culbreath had glassy and bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol and said she was drinking two hours prior to the crash, police said. Her blood alcohol content was 0.094 percent.

DUI … James Byus, 48, of the 2800 block of Old Welsh Road, Willow Grove, was arrested Dec. 31 at 7:15 p.m. after he was seen lying on the ground of the parking lot of CVS in the 2800 block of Moreland road, police said.

He had an ’06 Harley-Davidson laying on top of his legs, police said.

According to police, an unidentified man helped lift the bike off of Byus’ legs. Byus smelled of alcohol and the key was in the motorcycle’s ignition. Byus initially said he had nothing to drink, but later said he had four Coronas at Brick House Tavern. His blood alcohol content was 0.108 percent and his blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana, police said.

DUI and careless driving … Rommel Richard Jack, 19, of the 2700 block of Miriam Avenue, Abington, was arrested Jan. 8 at 3:51 a.m. following a traffic stop after he was seen stopped at a green light in the corner of Old York and Keith roads, police said. According to police, Jack was blocking the northbound lane of Old York Road as he sat in the left-turn lane with his right turn signal activated.

Jack was also asleep.

According to police, Jack was disoriented when he woke up, denied falling asleep, smelled of alcohol and had a blood alcohol content of 0.202 percent.

DUI and driving with a suspended license … Craig P. White, 30, of the 1400 block of Huntingdon Road, Abington, was arrested Jan. 28 at 12:31 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Rockwell Road after he drove an Infiniti G37 over the median in the corner of Old Welsh and Easton roads, police said. According to police, White smelled of alcohol and had glassy and bloodshot eyes. White said he had two beers earlier at TGI Fridays in mall, failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.209 percent, police said.
