Abington Police Reports
The following police reports were taken from the Abington Police records room July 2
Retail theft … Dwayne E. Jackson, 33, of North 15th Street, Philadelphia, was arrested June 15 at 3:57 p.m. after he was seen selecting and concealing several watches and a package of fireworks — totaling $160 — while in Target in the 1400 block of Old York Road, police said. According to police, Jackson attempted to leave without paying. Jackson has two prior convictions for retail theft, police said.
Theft from motor vehicle and disorderly conduct … Raymond Edwards, of Roslyn Avenue, Glenside, was arrested June 14 at 5:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Arnold Avenue in the Roslyn section of the township after a resident saw Edwards reach into a vehicle through its opened window and attempt to steal an iPhone, police said. According to police, the resident approached Edwards and then Edwards fled … throwing the phone back into the car. Edwards was stopped nearby; he was identified by his Adidas track suit and his Los Angeles Lakers baseball cap.
DUI … Jaclyn Cutaiar, 25, of Fairhill Road, Glenside, was arrested June 8 at 11:58 p.m. following a traffic stop for blowing a red light at Keswick Avenue while driving northbound on Easton Road, police said. According to police, Cutaiar smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. She said she had a few drinks earlier in the evening and almost stumbled and fell over prior to taking field sobriety tests, of which she failed two. Cutaiar had a blood alcohol content of 0.264 percent.
Theft … A warrant was issued June 27 for William Carden, 53, of Roberts Avenue, Glenside, after police obtained video surveillance of Carden stealing an iPhone from CVS on Jenkintown Road on May 19 at 11:20 a.m., police said. According to police, a customer left the phone on the counter about 15 minutes prior to the incident. Carden did not attempt to find the owner of the phone.
DUI … Jannaca Cook, 39, of Glenside Avenue, Glenside, was arrested May 17 at 2:24 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Keswick and Abington avenues after a police officer saw Cook back her Jeep Cherokee into a parked car while leaving the parking lot at Plush, police said; Cook did not stop. According to police, Cook said she thought she hit something, but was not sure. Cook smelled of alcohol, had glassy eyes and slurred speech. She said she had a few drinks at Plush. Cook was unsteady on her feet as she exited the vehicle, failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.186 percent, police said.
DUI … Nathan Smith, 30, of Helmer Drive, Philadelphia, was arrested April 14 at 12:05 a.m. following a traffic stop near Easton Road and Keswick Avenue after he made a turn without signaling, police said. According to police, Smith then crossed the double-yellow lines and almost struck a vehicle as he drifted into the northbound lane of Easton Road as he traveled southbound.
When police asked Smith for his license, Smith handed over his Visa card. According to police, he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He said he had four or five beers and was coming from Plush. He failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.221 percent.
Possession of a controlled substance … Rashon Izeem Singleton-Saunders, 19, of Wanamaker Road, Jenkintown, was arrested Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. after an assistant principal at Abington Senior High School found Singleton-Saunders to be in possession of two clear hard plastic cylinders which was later revealed to contain synthetic cannabinoids, police said.
