Possession of a controlled substance … Joseph Bernard Hophan, 19, of the 8200 block of Thomson Road, Elkins Park, was arrested Sept. 15 following a traffic stop near Baederwood and Jenkintown roads for having a malfunctioning brake light and for having a license plate from a Cadillac on his Volkswagen, police said. According to police, there was a smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and there was an open 40-ounce bottle of Mickey’s malt liquor on the passenger side floor. Following a search, police found cigar remnants and a black and yellow bag stamped “K2 Standard Limited Edition” containing synthetic marijuana.
DUI … John Ceterowski, 51, of the 100 block of Elm Avenue, Jenkintown, was arrested Oct. 7 at 8:21 p.m. following a crash in the 900 block of Huntingdon Pike, police said. According to police, Ceterowski exchanged information with the other driver involved in the crash but fled before police arrived. Ceterowski was found in his apartment. Ceterowski smelled of alcohol, and said he had one beer. Due to his extreme intoxication he could not perform field sobriety tests. His blood alcohol content was 0.240 percent.
DUI … Nicholas George Rosalis, 22, of the 1900 block of Mather Way, Elkins Park, was arrested Oct. 8 at 3:16 a.m. following a traffic stop for speeding, having expired vehicle registration and for not being able to stay in the center of the lane, police said. According to police, Rosalis smelled of alcohol, had glassy and watery eyes, and failed a field sobriety test. Rosalis had a blood alcohol content of 0.166 percent.
DUI, reckless driving and possession of a small amount of marijuana … Rodney Whitmire, 66, of the 3300 block of Jeffrey Drive, Dresher, was arrested Oct. 28 at 8:40 p.m. after he struck a sign in the corner of Woodland and Easton roads and almost struck a utility pole, police said. Upper Dublin Police stopped Whitmire near the corner of Twining Road and Jeffrey Drive. He had a small wooden pipe on the passenger seat, a small bag of confirmed marijuana in the door card and he smelled of alcohol, police said. Whitmire failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.165 percent; his blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana.
DUI and reckless driving … Christopher L. Truitt, 20, of the 8200 block of Temple Road, Philadelphia, was arrested Oct. 31 at 12:55 a.m. following a traffic stop for speeding near the corner of Old Welsh and Easton roads, police said. According to police, Truitt had slurred speech, glassy eyes, smelled of alcohol, failed four field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.196 percent.
Drug possession … Ronald DiGiulio, 26, of the 500 block of Moreland Road, Huntingdon Valley, was arrested Nov. 19 following a call for a drug overdose at his residence, where he was found semi-conscious, police said. According to police, DiGiulio had a used syringe in his pocket. Police also found a green, glassine baggie with blue dinosaurs stamped on it, containing confirmed heroin near where DiGiulio was found in the house.
DUI … Adeina Mae Debnam, 23, of the 4600 block of Old York Road, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 24 at 1:50 a.m. following a traffic stop for driving 50 mph in a 35-mph zone near the area of Keswick Avenue and Easton Road — where there were a lot of people standing outside, police said. According to police, Debnam smelled of alcohol; she initially said the smell was “wings,” then said she had “one beer.” Debnam failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol content of 0.149 percent.
