Abington Police Reports, Aug. 31

Because there's no urinal cake on that building ...

Possession of a controlled substance … Michael Jack Obrien, 28, of the 9000 block of Wesleyan Road, Philadelphia, and Carlo Boccuti, 35, of the 2700 block of Clayton Street, Philadelphia, were arrested June 23 at 10:20 p.m. near the corner of Township Line and Church roads following a traffic stop for not using a turn signal, police said. According to police, during the stop, both Obrien and Boccuti were making erratic movements, reaching under the passenger-side seat and into the passenger-side door card. Boccuti, the driver, smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes, and there was a bottle of beer on the passenger-side floor.

Boccuti gave consent to search the vehicle and said, “Go ahead. There’s nothing in there.” Police found a plastic bag containing confirmed cocaine in the passenger-side door card.

Receiving stolen property … Andre Rahadian, 38, of the 800 block of Winden Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 15 at 6:51 p.m. after he opened a fraudulent account at Bloomingdale’s, purchased a pair of $290 sunglasses and $168 worth of men’s clothing, and attempted to return the merchandise in exchange for a Bloomingdale’s gift card, police said. According to police, Rahadian confessed to using a false ID to create the accounts.

Summary arrests

Public drunkenness … Steven Cook, 21, of Old Welsh Road, Abington, was arrested Aug. 12 at 2:20 a.m. after police observed Cook staggering down the road near the corner of Susquehanna and Meetinghouse roads, police said.

Disorderly conduct … Elijah Corbin Jr., 24, of North 49th Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 20 at 7:29 p.m. after police observed Corbin urinating on the side of a building in the corner of Easton Road and Patane Avenue, police said.

Retail theft … Carmen Trifiro, 30, of Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested Aug. 21 at 2:38 p.m. after Sears security in Willow Grove Park Mall observed Trifiro remove a flashlight from its packaging and leave the store without attempting to pay for two canisters of propane, police said.

Retail theft … Atticus Weaver, 18, of Guernsey Avenue, Abington, was arrested Aug. 24 at 8:15 p.m. after an employee of the Genuardi’s in Roslyn saw Weaver put a bottle of cough syrup in his pocket and leave without attempting to pay, police said.
